No gender selective tax

Collins Gartrell worked with Bauer Media’s Story54 to create the ‘No Gender Selective Tax’ campaign. We provided creative and advocacy advice to build a campaign rallying against taxes placed on gender-specific goods and services including tampons, pads and sanitary items.

The campaign is ran across 36 of Bauer Media’s brands including Elle, The Australian Woman’s Weekly, Cosmopolitan and Woman’s Day, to encourage people to sign the bloodyannoying.com petition.

In August, Scott Morrison in his role as Treasurer in response to the campaign agreed that it was time for the tax to go.

"Collins Gartrell understands how advocacy and advertising can combine to bring about real social change. The insights they brought to Bauer's campaign to remove GST off tampons was crucial to our success. I’d recommend them to any organisation facing a complex public policy challenge”
